Driving around Leamington looking for a place to have breakfast, I spotted this place. Parked on the street and in we went.
We seated ourselves in a booth and our waitress passed us two menus and took a beverage order. When she returned, we placed our order. I ordered a traditional breakfast (eggs, ham, home fries, rye toast (for an extra $.75). My partner ordered the traditional as well, but with bacon (and rye toast at a surcharge of $.75 as well)..So between the two of us and our total of 4 slices, we paid for their loaf of rye bread.
Food was what you'd expect...except for their home fries...they were delicious (They were sliced very thinly).
Also something worth noting...I ordered a tea and got a mug of hot water, as well as a stainless steel pot of hot water...most places never offer a refill of hot water.
While we were there, the restaurant experienced a "power issue" which caused the toaster and coffee makers to shut off. Several patrons who arrived left when being informed of this fact as it was going to take a while to fix the problem.
Our waitress (sorry...didn't get her name) was attentive and friendly.
    I'd got back.
Breakfast, with tax, came to $21

We went here after visiting Wheatley PP and it had decent reviews on google.   I had the 1 piece of battered cod with French fries and it came with soup or salad.  I chose the soup which was chicken and rice.  The soup was good but the chicken in it was an odd red color.   The cod had more batter on it than fish and the fish was mushy.  The French fries were nice and crispy though.   We initially got drink refills but after we got our food they were lacking.  I think there might of been only one waitress and quite a few people in for lunch.   We left kind of disappointed in our food and the lack of service after we received our food.

Had a lovely Sunday brunch today! The ladies were busy but charming and the food was delicious.  The portions are generous, the cost is economical, and the atmosphere is priceless.  If you live here, you surely know this place is a treat to your hometown.  If you are a visitor like I am ~ you have to make time to visit and enjoy this treasure where you will leave with a wave like an old friend that just shared a great meal together... Thank you, till we see you again, my friends.

We each ordered beef barley soup and a BLT.  The soup had only 2 small bits of beef, a few bits of carrot and onion, but was mostly barley.  The sandwich was OK.  HOWEVER, the SERVICE was terrible- the young server was not friendly and she did not return to check with us about how we were enjoying our meal and whether or not we needed anything.  We also both had coffee.  She never refilled our cups voluntarily.  I glared across the restaurant at her and she yelled across the room, asking if we wanted more.  We were the only patrons in the restaurant at this time, just before noon, so no excuse for not better serving us.  DON'T GO!!

I hate to bash a local business but frankly this time I would have been better off at mc donald's for a cheap & predictable meal or any casual dining chain.

food - bland and unimaginative diner food

service - distracted. Spent time sweeping around customers, didn't refill coffee cups, etc.

atmosphere - as bleak as the downtown. boths and barren walls

value - priced like a city diner so too expensive for the food served and the location

There are better options in this town.
